The world is full of businesses and many people are wondering what kind of business they should do, where they can find good jobs, etc. Well! Here we will talk about some type of small business that you can start by yourself or with proper planning to make your profits. But before going ahead, let me tell you what types of businesses exist in our country?

There are four categories of business available: online business, traditional business, ecommerce business, and offline business. Let’s take a look at each one of them.

Offline Business:

This happens when a person buys an item in physical stores and sell it personally. It does not require any form of printing or shipping service. Also, this business requires less capital investment compared to others.

Online Business:

Everyone knows how convenient it is to buy products online, get them delivered right to their doorstep, and then sell them again after a week or two. No one ever expected that in 2020 too, would there be so many new forms of trading that happened without even being able to see such a huge gap between “home-based buyers and sellers.” When everything started working online, people did not have to spend much time and efforts on searching for products, buying them, packaging them, shipping them directly from manufacturers to consumers, and selling them. Online shopping became very popular as it saved both seller and buyer time and effort. Since then, numerous companies have become online platforms like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace that give us ease in doing business. Whether the product you want to sell is books, clothes, groceries, etc., you can easily find it on these platforms, post ads on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest to attract customers and sell the goods. People buy whatever they want through social media and online sites like YouTube, TikTok, Google Shopping, Spotify, Walmart, Shopify, etc., which means no matter what their location is; they can buy whatever they like through these platforms without moving around. What more than convenience?

Traditional Business:

If you don’t plan well from day 1, it will take time for it to work out. Therefore, if you decide to go for a traditional business, you need to define clear goals, identify areas of improvement, hire employees, create teams and departments, and maintain consistent communication. Make sure every employee understands and agrees with these steps. You need to establish clear standards of quality, customer satisfaction, delivery time (if possible), fees, and reputation for your brand. For example, some products cannot be sold online, but if you manage to get these products printed, it does not mean that you are ready to give up. Customers are looking for those items in stores and in real life. So be careful about what to sell and the place you want to sell it.

eCommerce Stores:

This is another name given to all the websites or shops that sell different products like clothing, accessories, appliances, jewelry, sports items, cosmetics, and food. They differ from an ordinary store because their main objective is to reach customers through technology rather than physical presence. They are easy to operate, you can set up and manage your page anywhere, you can choose your own themes and colors. The only difference they have from regular stores is the fact that they provide information that customers require immediately. Many people have already started using eCommerce shops and selling their products to improve their purchasing power.

Offline store:

An Offline Store is simply a shop that is located somewhere in this city or town, though this word varies according to geographical regions. These days most of the small retailers are thinking about online sales because of global pandemic, so they decided to close down their existing brick and mortar locations and go online. By selling from home, you can expand your market, save money, promote your products, get feedback, grow your business, and offer free services like deliveries, customer support, offers, rewards, discounts, and loyalty programs.

Which type of business you choose depends entirely upon you, and your goal in starting or expanding into different industries. But be cautious while choosing and executing the right strategy.

I hope I was able to help you in figuring out whether you should start an Online or Traditional store if you were thinking about starting a career in this field. The choice is yours, just keep researching, reading reviews, communicating with clients to know more about their opinions, and learn your strengths and weaknesses.
